Before becoming a full-time dog trainer, Cam spent 15 years in secondary education, building a foundation in clear communication, behaviour change and evidence-based learning. That background shapes how he works with both dogs and their people: training plans are practical, structured and easy to follow.
His journey into dog training deepened through his two rescue Kelpies, Henry and Reef. Like many high-drive working dogs, they came with challenges that needed more than generic obedience training. Learning how to meet their behavioural and emotional needs is what led Cam to combine his teaching expertise with professional dog behaviour training, and it is why he has a particular soft spot for Kelpies, Border Collies, Heelers and other clever, driven, easily frustrated working breeds.
While still teaching part-time, Cam completed the Karen Pryor Academy Professional Dog Trainer certification and joined the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia. Most recently he completed the Master Course in Aggression in Dogs with Michael Shikashio, one of the world’s leading authorities on canine aggression, which is why he can confidently support dogs with complex, fear-based and aggressive behaviour that many trainers turn away.
His approach is individualised and practical. Every plan is tailored to the dog in front of him and the realities of your household, whether that is a new puppy needing foundations, a reactive dog needing specialised behaviour modification, or a family who simply wants a calm, reliable companion.
